Yellowstone Entrance Fees

For a private non-commercial vehicle, there is a fee of $20.00, snowmobiles and motorcycles are $15.00 for each one. If you want to enter by foot, bike, or ski, there is a $10.00 fee. The fees provide each visitor with a 7-day permit for Grand Teton National Parks as well as Yellowstone National Park. The admissions receipts are required if you wish to re-enter the parks. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required to ride snowmobiles.


Certain entrance permits will have slightly higher fee’s starting on May 1st, 2006. Non-commercial vehicles are $25.00; motorcycles are $20.00 each; visitors over the age of 16 years old are $12.00 if entering by bike, foot, or ski. These fees cover a 7-day park pass.


The Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks also have annual passes available. For $40.00 you can receive a one year pass from the date of purchase.

Golden Access Passport

National Park Units that charge entrance fees also have $50.00 annual passes available. You should contact The National Park Foundation’s National Parks Pass website if you would like more information.


Residents of the United States, regardless of age, can receive a lifetime passport. These individuals must be permanently disabled or blind. The passport will only be given in person and is made available at all federal areas where entrance fee’s are charged. You are required to have proof of the medical condition. The passport will admit the holder and any passengers in a private non-commerical vehicle to any national parks. Camping and some other fees will be 50% cheaper when using the passport as well. If the entry vehicle is not a private one, it will only admit the passholder, spouse, and children. It is free to obtain a passport.

Golden Age Passport

If you are 62 years of age or older you may obtain the lifetime passport. You are required to be a United States citizen or a permanent resident. There is a $10.00 fee. The person obtaining the passport must be in attendance to receive it. These can be obtained at any place where the entrance fee is charged. The passholder will receive a 50% discount on some fees, including camping and free admission after obtaining the passport. When the entry vehicle is a commercial vehicle or a non-private vehicle this passport only admits the passholder, spouse, and children. In a private vehicle all those inside obtain free access to the parks.


A passport of one year is $65.00. The person obtaining the passport must be in attendance to receive it. These can be obtained at any place where the entrance fee is charged.
